Just published in JAC!
We characterised the genomic features of the multi-resistant A. baumannii global clone 1 reference strain RUH875 β one of the earliest known isolates recovered in 1984 and an important genome for tracing the evolution of AMR in Ab. academic.oup.com/jac/article/... #AMR
We analysed >1,800 complete plasmids, uncovered 120 novel Rep types, and expanded the APT scheme to 257 types β now applicable across the entire genus.
The APT scheme offers a powerful new framework for tracking Acinetobacter plasmids in clinical and environmental settings.

New pre-print!!! What types of genes end up on plasmids and why? The take home message of this paper is that beneficial genes move from plasmids to chromosome, causing the ecological value of plasmids to decay over time.

New year, new assemblies!
I'm excited to announce Autocycler, my new tool for consensus assembly of long-read bacterial genomes!
It's the successor to Trycycler, designed to be faster and less reliant on user intervention.
Check it out: github.com/rrwick/Autoc...
