Well this is the time of the year. Our tradition has been to play the Polar Express boardgame.Yes it is like Candyland with a little more strategy and take that. Yes the quality is awful. But tradition is tradition and we still laugh as we kingmake and threaten other players 😁

Unrelated to #boardgames, this year's ornament represent the 3 kittens we adopted from the shelter at the start of the year. They are not blood related but are called the 3 sisters. Or the 3 Terrors which is quite fitting 🤣

This is our memory tree. One ornament had to represent Everdell Farshore of course and the beautiful art by @logicfairy.bsky.social with Captain Bonny. That year we actually added a second ornament because we love the Lighthouse Keeper too much. We call him Frank 🤣

Illusion is competitive. Players try to guess the proportions of colors but it is not as easy as it sounds.
@gameswithwine.bsky.social has used this for team building purposes as well and people enjoyed it greatly.

Pizza Party is sold as a game for 2 but if you have more sets or can make up for the dice, you are all set. Even non gamers have had fun.

Zeus on the Loose is a great game.
Our copy is a little trashed because we played it to death at home and at school with Kindergartners and up. Great to practice numbers and great artwork. Plays fast and adults who play along can have fun as well.

Similo is a fun co-op game. Help your team find the right card. We own the board games version but they have many different themes to choose from.

It was a cute adaptation. And considering this is the version we have played over the years, I am pleasantly surprised to see how well it help up!
( Clarification : the original game IS very well done and great quality. We prefer this one for sentimental reasons)

First #Everdell Duo game in a while. This is a very strong substitute for the original one as it combines placement/ tableau,very tight, also played as cooperative,solo and campaign. Why is he always moving the darn marker when I need it to stay put? 😆

The Ship advance and the board straps slide to the other hand. Players use cards on that board to gain resources, VPs, adjacent the Ship and win tiles.

Played a #boardgame of #Solenia. Gain resources and deliver good as the Ship advances on that modular board game and allows you to go from night tiles to day tiles.

We are not cutthroat overall but this move can shift things for sure. Last time I did this, i knocked 2 of my opponent's workers and completely wrecked their whole strategy for that season. I had not realized it would be so bad. It was 🤭

The board and components are very good quality (wood cubes, plastic blue skulls and cardboard tiles).
I added black player components in order to avoid bad moves. Well bad moves due to color confusion, not my usual bad moves 😆

Yeah...the gears are part of the fun. And if you are artistic, players have posted on BGG the gears after they painted them. Incredible.
We don't own the expansion but base game is fun.
