2 people are useful if one is a ripper and one is a taper. It goes a whole lot faster when you just need to reach out and tape us ready to apply

Other people have suggested, but yeah plastidip. You can paint on TOP of the plastidip with a fabric paint to match the color/tones of the hoof, the plastidip acts as a flexible sealant.
Just be sure to wear a respirator and gloves and spray in a ventilated area. Plastidip is super toxic
