28th in a field of 100+ with a time just over the hour for a wet trail run. My first timed run following a significant time away with injury. Given I spent most of the summer navigating couch to 5k I’m reasonably content, bar a few frustrating seconds.

An empty tub of salt with sea salt flakes in a font that reduces the size of the letter a’s tail considerably. When combined with the circular nature of the bowl, the result is a letter very similar to what one might expect of the letter O.

Saw this out the corner of my eye and just for a moment, thought it said SEO salt. In other news, learnt a little bit about typeface anatomy as a result.

At springs #brightonSEO I had a Eurika moment, popped up to decathlon, bought myself trainers, shorts, socks and a tshirt and started myself on #Couchto5k - I’ve had a few set backs and stalls since, but delighted that on the cusp of this autumns event I’m on the brink of success.

An interesting detail that seems to be getting lost @brianwernham.bsky.social - the government want this mandatory digital id card to be on your phone.

Will this be a mandatory app? Government spyware on everyone’s mobile? At least those of us who can afford one?

SEO was a bit of a misnomer anyway. A more formal term would have been based around information retrieval. No wonder the old tricks still work. Meanwhile the industry seems to be sinking into a rather insular, old macdonalds farm version of SEO: AEO GEO AIO. How long before we hit “e-i-e-I-o”?

Last one to compare is hours in a year. Thats 24 x 365. We don’t need to work it out - the only question is if 60 x 60 is greater than 365 ( cancel out the 24 in both equations ). As 60 x 6 is 360 we can say seconds in a day wins.

Days in a decade is about 3650 ( 365 x 10 ) that’s smaller than 60 x 60 x 24 so seconds in a day still wins.

It’s a sorting problem. To start, seconds in day and minutes in week. Both are multiplications - with the same core of operations. 60 is greater than 7 so seconds in a day is bigger.
