I mean moreso that maybe his intentions /before/ he even met him could've been to use him for power since he'd likely have heard of the "radio demon" and his reputation already. but then he met him and got to know him and realised that he actually wanted to share the spotlight with him instead

He keeps launching people up until someone clips through it Backrooms style. Also I think of Pentious not being able to go back down to Hell is like a 'you've already cleared this level so you can't go back' sort of deal, to keep in like with the game logic lol. probably also the same as Sinners not being able to go back to Earth either. Like if someone stole an Asmodean Crystal and tries to jump through the portal it'd be like running into a brick wall lol.
