I feel the same way. It's not healthy to ignore all the things I still enjoy about the show. Sarah's performances alone as Buffy is still fantastic. At the same time though, I can't blame anyone born after the 90s for not wanting to engage with it given what we now know

Like how Quinton mentions in one of his Nick Sitcom videos, once you know about the elephant in the room you start seeing his impact everywhere...

At first I didn't expect rewatching Buffy & Angel after the reboot announcement to conclude with this thesis but knowing what everyone who worked on these shows has said about him puts everything that happens in both shows into a very uncomfortable but necessary perspective

Oh absolutely! Getting through Season 4 this time was a chore but 5 has been a better experience. One big takeaway this time is that it's not difficult to tell when certain quotationable story decisions were made by a creator known for being a cruel piece of shit.

As someone finishing up this last season of the show, it's just kind of a shitshow most of the time. The tonal whiplash of the puppet episode followed by Fred's horribly depressing death and the cramming in of stories that should've been in season 6 makes me such a strange watch
