After nearly a year of dating Brytnee had finally had enough of being “tied to a loser” and broke it off.

Gus poured himself into his candle making “I guess for humans promises aren’t forever.”

It was time for Gus to finally admit that he was no longer part of a pack he was just a lone…human.

“So what’s the big deal?” Bry didn’t seem upset by Gus’ misfortune. “Just buy some new tools.”

“I can’t afford that, I’ll just focus on candles” Gus shrugged but as the afternoon wore on Bry seemed more and more irritable.

“Would you stop flirting with everyone”

“I’m just being friendly…”

Of course it was too good to be true!

One night he woke to find a raccoon poking around. “Hey scram! There’s no food for you here!”

“Ah I didn’t know anyone was in this dump!”

“This dump is my home and you just destroyed my fireplace and my workbench!”

Gus was devastated!

By the time a year had past Augustus had become much more adjusted to life as a human though there was still much to learn. He had progressed enough in Wellness to keep his human-sized fury at bay and had picked up Candle Making as a freelancer.

He was feeling rather accomplished!

“Happy Love Day, Brytnee!”

“Oh it’s beautiful!”

“I’m glad you like it, I picked it on the way here.”

Brytnee gave a tight smile. “I’m sure it will look beautiful in the authentic, handmade, Selvadoradan vase I just bought”

Gus grinned, “It totally will!”

Brytnee rolled her eyes.

Augustus dreaded that first full moon after his restoration. So many things had already gone wrong and he could feel the fury like a knot inside him. In the seclusion of his little camp he focused on his breathing. He couldn’t transform anymore but he didn’t want to leave a legacy of fury.

The Speed Dating hadn’t been a total disaster. He had always been a charming wolf and Brytnee had asked to see him again.

Brytnee took in his suit. “How…quaint!”

“Thanks, I put it together myself.”

Brytnee glancing around nervously. “Maybe we should take this to go.”

That night Augustus struggled to sleep but the next morning he woke up to pouring rain. He took a deep breath and let the water wash away last nights frustration. Maybe Joaquin wasn’t a good pack mate but maybe he could still be a bro…first Gus just needed to learn what that meant.

Later that night Joaquin invited Gus to a place called the Bluff for a party but no one showed up. “Very funny Joaquin, I’ve been part of enough initiations to know what one looks like.”

“What?! No! This isn’t a gang! They’re coming I swear.”

“Whatever, I’m going back to my camp.”

Being part of the Bros was like being in a pack without the proximity. “Know what you need? A girlfriend! The cafe is holding a speed dating sesh. Maybe you can find a decent one.”

Speed dating turned out to be some kind of human mating ritual but Gus couldn’t be sure it helped much.

Augustus was determined to succeed in this new life. It was strange being without his pack and everything seemed a bit more dull now but he was free!

He traded some fish for some carving tools. He could almost hear Rory’s voice “Whittling is silly. We’re meant to destroy, not create!”

Next morning Gus woke to find a hooded creature prowling around his camp. “Can I help you?”

A welcoming committee showed up at that moment and the creature scurried off tail wagging.

“Welcome to Windenburg bro!”
Gus was so happy to be accepted in this new world he quickly forgot the creature.

Gus wasn’t able to take much with him when he left the Mill but survival was one thing the Pack was good at. He’d survived breaking away, tomorrow was a new day to make new friends and learn more about the strange World he’d been cast into. For now he was just glad to have food and shelter.

It was dark when the man washed ashore one spring day. The night had been long and harrowing but he was safe now. He didn’t know where he was but there was water for fishing.

His father had always said, “As long as you can fish, Augustus, you’ll never go hungry.”

As Amberlyn made final preparations to move to her new home Travis and Liberty found a spark. Liberty even decided it was time to mature despite the Youth Potion. All Amberlyn’s plans for who would move with her were collapsing all except for Ashley who was looking forward to a new start and freedom

As Travis’ relationship drama began to settle down, Amberlyn came to the end of another career cycle she was officially a Celebrity Chef. With that she gained the rewards of Master Chef and Master Mixologist. It was time for her to finally move to the next neighborhood.

No matter what happened Amberlyn knew she wanted to make sure Ashley had every opportunity a Watcher could provide so as she prepared for another fresh start she made sure to include Ashley in it not knowing that the Self Assured teenager had already developed a bad habit of stealing!

When the time came for Travis to get married all his friends showed up for him but his bride did not.

“Don’t blame yourself Trav she wasn’t good for you!”

Even Eliza who hated him couldn’t help but feel pity. “No one deserves this. What a witch!”
Travis just wished he could believe it too.

Amberlyn had plans to go Villainous Valentine on the Pancakes so Travis and Eliza could be together. She’d even let Eliza and her daughters live with them when she moved. As it turned out Travis had a secret girlfriend and soon fiancée. Unfortunately Tricia and Ashley did not get along.

While living Courtyard Lane, Ashley was able to get to know her mother. Eliza was deeply in love with Bob and didn’t want him to know she had cheated. They now had three other children together. As far as Bob was concerned Ashley was just a neighbor girl who enjoyed spending time with the twins.
