I’m watching bbc breakfast where it’s being discussed again. It is still astonishing that this doesn’t motivate actual answers. Its just amazes me that the PO haven’t produced a balance sheet showing the extra in their til, and given it back!! Then compensation should follow.

What I don’t understand about the #PostOfficeScandal is that many of the Post masters/mistresses paid thousands of their own money into the system to try and plug the apparent holes. Where did it go? Has anyone actually balanced the post office books to work out the real financial state of PO?

Mining service pilgrimage today. For some reason, despite more publicity than usual, we had a teeny group of 4 of us and only thirty (as opposed to 80 last year) at the service.

I may have started another little writing project this evening. I say started… it started several years ago but I had no idea I’d consider whether it might make an actual book.

A stunning evening at Landsend watching the fireworks!

A view down a golden sand beach with cliffs either side, and lots of footprints in the sand. The sea is calm, with gentle breakers near the shore. Children are playing and the sky overhead is overcast with dramatic clouded on the horizon a shower is passing across.

A gloomy day on Poldhu beach yesterday. We are staycationing this year (actual staycation; where we stay in our home and do day trips). It was beautiful, but we were eventually driven off by rain!! #staycation #poldhu #home #cornwall

Watching the #RNLI report on BBC breakfast. I’m so grateful that we have this charity which indiscriminately saves lives at sea. It doesn’t matter why or how people choose to cross the channel. That’s a debate for politicians. When humans need care or rescuing, it’s absolutely what should happen.

Will you make it really clear if the scones are local? I’m sure I can find some church ladies to help if it’s that bad?!!

I don’t mind if it’s extra for cream tea rather than butter, but I do mind if it’s a vacuum packed mass produced abomination!!

Yeah I had a wedding in one of my Victorian ones yesterday and it got so warm. The Medieval churches in my last parishes never did get too uncomfortable.

View down a dusty track running though a green camp site with tropical looking shrubs and palm trees, looking toward the sea just beyond. In Cornwall.

I totally recommend a night away camping with your bestie, a few ciders, and no responsibility (apart from the dog!). In just 24hrs I relaxed and unwound and some local thought I was the local MP (who happens to be an older man and a distant cousin, so that’s a bit odd!!).

Is there precedence? I’ve only seen it done if there are unaffordable structural issues or if the congregation is no longer able to continue.

What would happen if a PCC decided they didn’t want to use a church building any longer? Is there a mechanism to give it back to the DBF with a “thanks but no thanks”?!

Nope. They can’t authorise the absence. So I’ve asked for the boys to have an unauthorised absence from school. It’s bananas isn’t it?

Just submitted my annual request for the boys to have an “unauthorised absence” from school for the Royal Cornwall Show. I’d so love it if our governments had a little more grace and nuance with regards school absence. Our county show is packed with educational experience. #Education #NotJustSchool
