By law I should have some days off after 4, 12+ hour shifts, but I don't. Nothing unusual for me to have like 6 or even more such shifts without a day off

I don't know why is their mindset like this. They are those kinds of ppl who think that if someone goes to college, it's just an excuse to avoid job for as long as possible.
But yeah, one would thought, that parents would be happy to have a child that became doctor.

It's why I decided to leave as soon as I could and just go silent. They just proved to me that it was the right decision, and I have no intentions to go crawling back as they did... I am just fine and happy without them

My family decided... to visit me after 3, almost 4 years of silence since I left them. I expected... dunno, something nice maybe...? But no. They decided to basically insult me again, that this career path is nonsense and such... long talk...

Yes, but I live alone, left my family behind, because I couldn't stand them. I spend 90% of my time at work, working 13+ hours shifts in the hospital, and every time I am at home, I basically only sleep and try to rest there, or visit my therapist because of my overworking problem...

This is something I feel a lot of people don't understand.
You can be in good position financially and at work, but still having a hard time being happy and that's something I feel like, others don't consider

I always get. "How can you not be happy? You have house, good job and everything."

Wild is how this is a problem everywhere. We need more healthcare workers, but I feel like a lot of people are gatekeeping it

'It's a lot of work, you won't be happy'
'You will just study, study and work and work without life'

Or at least this is what my family fed me whole life.

Yeah... it's a big problem everywhere. I usually work over 13 hours shifts multiple times a week, with barely a free day, because how short staffed are we. But oh well... it's just how it is.

I remember my time at ICU. What an experience...
I remember one lady, a mother of two, having cystic fibrosis and her lungs slowly giving up (flooded with phlegm). She ended up on surgery, and a big part of her lung was cut off. But even that didn't help as she returned to ICU a few months later...

Cannot emphasise how important CPR is. When someone collapses in front of you and they're not breathing, get on their chest and start pushing your hands down, back and forth, HARD. Make sure to get someone else to call ambulance while you do this and take turns.

'Funny' thing today at work

Yesterday I had over a 16 hour shift and came back home around 10pm and went immediately to bed as I had to woke up at 4am and be ready for next day.
But today my boss arrived quite early, a little after 5am and spotted me and she was like.

'You... live here?'
