I think 3 weeks ago my tongue was pretty firmly in cheek about relegation, but I actually cannot see where the 4-5 wins come from. Leicester is post Europa, for a start. Away to both Ipswich and Wolves, which are a swing if they're losses. Still got Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham and Brentford away...

They didn't think it was worth signing players to back the squad up for a 9 month season, they won't blink at a 6 week layoff for Solanke

I don't think the injuries this season are entirely bad luck, but even so, this is on another level to anything anyone has seen before. And it's the exact sort of extreme situation that gets you a relegation battle, no matter who you are.

And yes, injuries, etc. But it's not like there isn't a science behind this either. In mid February, we'll have played as many games as this season as we did the entirety of last season, and with a smaller squad than we had. What did they think would happen? These are the top line numbers

See also, all 3 of our draws this season (Leicester, Wolves, and Fulham) were games we led in.

It's not purely unlucky to have thrown away 18 points. It's mentality, fatigue, squad management and tactics.

The article references how every game we've lost this season has been by the odd goal. Aside from that alone not being strictly about luck, take into consideration that 4 of those 11 defeats this season were games we led in. Brighton and Chelsea were games we led by 2.

I think there's a bit of a culture of picking and choosing the data for Spurs this season, on both sides of the argument about Ange/the squad. But whichever way you look at it, I cannot for one minute agree that luck is the prevailing factor
