Kent District Library

Everyone should see themselves reflected in the materials at the library.

It's Earth Day. We put the "re-use" in reduce, re-use and recycle.
To be honest though, we do the other bits too.

One person can only do so much, but they can visit the library, which is a lot.

There are tons of ways to advocate for libraries. One of the simplest is to get and use a library card.

If you support libraries, thank you.

Freedom of speech is pretty great, right? We think so.

Your best self supports libraries. Our best self supports you.

Do you love NOT BUYING THINGS? Have we got the place for you!

Libraries are for readers, but we're also for music lovers, movie watchers, small business owners, lifelong learners, writers, world travelers, history buffs, gardeners, outdoors enthusiasts, gamers and DIY hobbyists.

Most of all, libraries are for you.

Support your local library by using your local library.

If you took all the books off our shelves and stacked them on top of each other, it would take a while for our librarians to reshelve them. Please don't do that.

We've been out for a week because of books. Did we miss anything?

How do you get your kids to love reading? Show them that you love reading.

Visiting the library is self-care.

Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, Rhode Island and Texas all have a Kent County, but there's only one Kent District Library.

(Sorry, everyone not in Michigan's Kent County.)

As a library, we know that every story is worthwhile. Never forget that your voice matters, and your story is important.

When you visit us, it's like the library is borrowing you.

What are you reading?

You know what's great? You are. You are great.

Need to escape the real world? We have a whole fiction section waiting for you.

Come in and pick up your library holds. Unless you don't have any. If that's the case, put some things on hold at the library.

Name a community hub that is open daily and doesn't charge you to be there.

We are delaying our open today until 1:00 PM today. That's the current plan, anyway.

Libraries are good at separating fiction and nonfiction. Business as usual.
