IOSCO has conducted a workshop in collaboration with International Capital Market Association (ICMA) on Building Resilient & Efficient Corporate Bond Markets. This initiative, part of the IOSCO NEXTGEN capacity building program, was targeted at securities regulators from growth & emerging markets.

Committee 8 met last week in Buenos Aires for a productive session hosted by Comisión Nacional de Valores. Under the leadership of Camille Beaudoin & Ana Frasquilho, regulators discussed the challenges facing retail investors. We were privileged to hear from an outstanding lineup of speakers.

Our Committee on Regulation of Secondary Markets (Committee 2) held a meeting on 25–26 June in Rio de Janeiro, hosted by CVM Brazil. Martina Tambucci (CONSOB), Committee 2 Chair, said: “It is essential to continuously analyze developments in secondary markets and emerging risks." #equitymarkets

IOSCO’s Committee on Derivatives (Committee 7) convened an in-person meeting on 2-3 June in London, kindly hosted by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Committee 7 focuses on issues related to all types of derivatives products and markets. It plays a key role in advancing IOSCO’s mission.

IOSCO congratulates Tom Seidenstein on his re-appointment as Chair of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) for a third term, effective 1 July 2025 and ending in December 2027.

Our 50th Annual Meeting commenced today. In welcoming almost 500 participants, IOSCO Chairman, Chair of the European Regional Committee and Chair of the Belgian FSMA, Jean-Paul Servais, thanked Dr. Tamy bin Ahmad Al-Binali, CEO of QFMA and his team for hosting IOSCO’s 50th annual meeting in Doha.

IOSCO held a workshop among regulators and enforcement authorities, kindly hosted by the Central Bank of Ireland in Dublin. The objective of the workshop was to learn about the challenges in combatting online harm suffered by retail investors and to build consensus on a shared approach.

Today, IOSCO organised a meeting of the IOSCO Board-level Financial Stability Engagement Group (FSEG), hosted by U.S. SEC. IOSCO Chair Jean-Paul Servais welcomed US SEC Chair Paul Atkins at the IOSCO table on his 2nd day in office. He thanked former Acting Chair Mark Uyeda & US SEC team for hosting.

IOSCO & the IMF held their 2nd joint conference in Washington DC on market-based finance and promoting stability in financial markets yesterday. IOSCO Chair Jean-Paul Servais noted that “developments such as the use of artificial intelligence and the growth in ETFs are reshaping financial markets”.
