As stormy weather started rolling in, I left the mountains and put my foot miles in exploring some of the islands and towns near Seattle, then headed north again. I love port/seaside towns.

Next I drove to the western coast of the Olympic Peninsula! The beaches from Northern California up through Oregon and Washington aren't all that different from each other. I love them.

I did visit the famous Tree of Life at Kalaloch, but it's sagging/washing away quite badly now, so no pic xx

I wasn't expecting this much snow, but was so happy to see it. I hiked the popular Skyline loop but added the lower lakes.

Famous Multnomah Falls, an extremely tall, thin, misty waterfall gushing off of a cliff of mossy rocks. A bridge arcs in front of it.

There were like 8 or 10 waterfalls of various sizes on the loop trail. Coming from California at the end of summer, the amount of water and plant life was soul-restoring.
