Four two-story rowhouses. Two at right are red brick with stone accents. The two at left are red brick with stone fronts. Second from left has a second floor bay window with a peaked roof, the one at far left has a flat roof. Others have sloped roofs with corbels at the base.

We have a real crisis of the perception of transit in the country when people are choosing to get in cars with strangers and get virtually mugged by big tech mega corporations, than take one of the many NJT buses than run this route 24/7

It's because Daley and UChicago destroyed the entire neighborhood in the name of urban renewal in the 60s. Check out the Chicago Centuries: 55th Street project at U of C that I manage to see the before / after

Two-story red brick building with yellow brick accents including an arch at the top center. Above the doors is a ivory-colored sign with brown lettering that says "A. Seidlitz & Son Saddlery." There is an orange door on the right side of the building and a boarded up door on the left. The center of the first floor is covered with dilapidated white siding.

Full page clipping from the Chicago Tribune, May 8, 1949. The vast majority of the page is taken up with pictures of saddlemakers and saddles from A. Seidlitz & Sons Saddlery. The title of the article is "Making Fancy Saddles Requires Skilful Workmanship and Many Hours."

Clipping from a listing of building permits in the Chicago Tribune, October 3, 1913. 6150 s. Ashland is described as a 2 story brick warehouse being built for A. Sieblitz (sic). L. F. Marston was the architect and the cost was $6,200.

Had to check on one of my favorite signs in Chicago. 6150 S. Ashland Ave. The building was built in 1913 for saddlemaker Adam Seidlitz. His son took over the business and was still going strong in 1949, the date of the clippings from the Tribune.

Large frame Victorian house with multiple gables and a 3-sided turret on the right side. The siding is painted light green with darker green trims around the windows and on the porch railings and orange accents across the roof line and outlining the gables. There is a large curved porch across the entire front of the house decorated with greenery and a red wreath. Most of the windows are narrow and vertical, but there is a half-circle window in the attic and a small arched window to the left of the turret.
