Today I visited Christ the King Primary School to speak with the yr 6 students.

I was blown away by the enthusiasm, attentiveness, and intellect of the students. They asked me Qs on the cost of living, climate change, and housing. Thank you to the school and the Politics Project for inviting me.

The work Cardiff Council has done to improve and develop new cycle lanes should be celebrated. We need more safe cycle lanes in Cardiff because it’s safer, it will get more people cycling (don’t get me started on the health benefits!) and it also reduces congestion. 3/4

On Ninian Rd, 2 cars pulled out in front of me in a dangerous manner, and on Lake Road West I was verbally abused simply for being on the road 2/4

My first timing cycling down the Roath Rec cycle lane yesterday, and from Lisvane Road to Wellfield Road (around 6km) this was by far the safest and most enjoyable part of the journey 1/4

In November, I asked an oral question at Council which
noted that 60% of girls suffer sexual harassment in schools and what Cardiff Council is doing to support teachers in addressing this. You can watch here with the reply from the Cabinet Member at 1:14:55:

We’ve achieved so much in Wales, including an gendered balanced Senedd, but there is more we need to do.
We need to tackle poverty, improve the childcare offer, and tackle gender based violence

Ahead of International Women’s Day I joined Cardiff West’s Women’s branch and MP, @abarroscurtis.bsky.social, to talk to the people of Cardiff West about women’s experiences in Cardiff and how we can achieve gender equality in Wales 🚺

This week I chaired Cardiff Council's Environment Scrutiny Committee which looked at the Budget.

I was encouraged to hear that residents' views were listened to- the proposal to increase burial charges on weekends has been scrapped and visitor parking permits will now rise to £90 rather than £120.

In July I proposed a motion to Cardiff Council with my brilliant colleague @kate-carr.bsky.social which looked to do exactly this. As a council we have committed to supporting access to local, healthy, sustainable food 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🥦🍎👩🏼‍🌾.

Unlikely art project building memories around the demolition of Llanishen's old tax office - The Cardiffian The project will feature a collection of drawings and stories from the community set to be displayed soon

Camilla Brueton has been drawing the HMRC headquarters in Llanishen as it’s been demolished. Now, she wants to talk to people who worked at or lived near the building.

Together we can tackle waste and consumption ♻️🌍

Great to meet with Cllr Bethan Proctor in Llanishen today to discuss much needed improvements to housing and public transport including the future of the Ty Glas site. Looking forward to continuing our work together to deliver real change for the community.
