Wind and solar smashed records on Saturday hitting a new peak of 79.8% electricity share on the NEM - without huge curtailment they would have produced 113% of demand.

'Textbook astroturfing': Coalition pollster working with gas campaign The Coalition's internal pollster is helping orchestrate a campaign to boost public support for the gas industry ahead of the federal election in what has been described as "textbook astroturfing".

Plea for federal funds to grow community trust in renewable zones Locals in renewable energy hotspots say they have been forced to create their own information groups to address concerns about the rapid energy transition and want the government to pitch in.

Volunteers across Australia say they've had to form groups to help address renewable energy concerns in their areas.

Communities are pushing for the creation of a series of local energy hubs funded by the Commonwealth to share the responsibility.

Labor woos landowners with developer ratings pilot, land potential website The federal government is wooing landowners by launching the Developer Ratings Scheme and funding a website that assess land for wind, solar potential.

This ARENA backed ratings website sounds decent -- having clear, comparable info about landholder payments is a good idea. This should be matched with info about community benefit schemes so neighbours can assess and compare projects too. reneweconomy.com.au/labor-woos-l...

There is almost zero support from the federal government for communities to build their own renewable energy projects.

What would help? A LOCAL ENERGY HUB.
