my boss is stranded in Australia because her flight back was due to come via Dubai and her travel insurer is refusing to fund replacement tickets because the airlines have taken a scalping approach to flexible pricing due to the crisis - £900 tickets are now £3,500 per person 🙃

I would say go for it tbh, some of the quests are fun and the companions are pretty good, just avoid the main quest forever lol

the fact FO4 is probably the last ever single player Fallout title makes its wet fart of a conclusion all the more damning too. like there's no ending slides, there's no end to the Sole Survivor's quest, you just blow up or don't blow up the Institute and then Nothing Happens Forever

50% of my obsession with this game is how Bethesda had the bones of something that could have been genuinely good and then screwed the pooch all the way to the bank whilst modders tried to fix everything they couldn't be arsed to implement & fanfic writers came up with an actual ending to the story

installed a FO4 mod that fixes companion dialogue so that it plays in sequence instead of at random as some lines are apparently really, really rare, and after a solid decade and 1,200+ hours of playtime YEAH I'M HEARING THINGS I NEVER HEARD BEFORE WTF

Mid-to-late 2000s internet had most of the good stuff we like (streaming audio and video, online shopping, ways to communicate, mobile access) but DIDN'T have:

-algorithms for EVERYTHING
-cookie popups
-adverts taking up 70%+ of screen real estate
-only 6 web sites
-optimisation for retention

it was people ruining the old internet whereas it’s corporations ruining the new internet
