Protesters rally outside N.S. legislature as tensions rise inside during debate - Halifax | Globalnews.ca Hundreds of protesters made their voices heard outside the Nova Scotia legislature to protest the government's cuts to cultural programs and resource extraction policies.

A group effort by my colleagues and I on the rally and what happened inside the legislature.

People inside and out took shots at Premier Tim Houston and his government for the cuts in the budget, as well as steps taken to backtrack on conservation and treaty rights.

The provincial budget cuts have hit HRM with the student transit pass program being cut from the community grants.

Councillors and the mayor see this change as a disappointment, and they're unsure if the municipality is able to take on the cost of continuing it.
