I get it

Every day I wake up feeling so weird because somehow I ended up with the things in life I always wished for the most. I don't know what quirk in the universe allowed for that but I am grateful and promise to return that energy back to the world and everyone around me.

Once you accept that the average american voter is either completely checked out or just an insane person, it becomes easier to not (totally) lose it over how our politics plays out.

I am somebody

I have been trying to just write things but not feeling or communicating with my own experience and its just words, but going back to that this past 24 hours has helped me get back in touch with things and also I opened a word doc and am typing things in it which I have not done really in years.✨

Also, the author explaining that literature is about feeling/participating in experience, is something I am either hearing for the first time or forgot about if I ever did. But it's where I am going wrong in both getting out of my creative rut and also what is missing from my early novice writing.

reading the line "poetry is the most condensed and concentrated form of literature" has totally broken open my brain with an inversion of logic that I have decided must be true - longform literature is just extended poetry.💡

Love the feeling when I read a book and think "this has changed my life." Best thing.

I say exactly one real prayer a year, on February 14th, for all the children about to experience a rejection or humiliation that will follow them forever.

But when someone takes you to to a whole new spiritual, intellectual, sensual plane you never knew you could go to? That's the best. Can't always find that but I am still hopeful.

Consumerism, superficiality, social signaling masquerading as love - not cool. Attraction driven by deepest insecurities, which I have had so much of - also isn't really great.

Other kinds of love is cool too. Love my blood and legal family, love my friend family, and so on.

So glad I got to a point where I could be a STRONG/INDEPENDENT/EMPOWERED/CONFIDENT/SINGLE/WOMAN and also be like "you know, love and romance is pretty neat."
