When I'm not at the beach, I just think about how hard it is to set a beach day up.

When I'm there, and suspended on the briny cold, the salt smell around me, the hot sun on my face, blue sky and white sun above, I think, does anything else matter but this?

It basically was.

I walked home with kale and the baguette poking out of the top of the bag, like a French caricature.

The soft butter instantly melted into the warm bread, running into the scented crevices and down my fingers.

I had to stop myself from eating the whole loaf in one go.

I bought a fresh, still-warm baguette from the farmers market and walked home and ate it slathered in the good Irish butter.

This is what life is all about.

Modern job application is so fucked.

Create a new account on a website for each new job application. Upload your resume information twice. Rewrite your resume. Write new cover letters that are slight variations on "I'm skilled and want money." Get a boilerplate rejection letter.

It's gonna be a real bummer if I get an office job and have to start wearing things besides gym clothes again.
