I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

Buzzfeed was trying to force Kyra and her team to use AI for a Chikn Nuggit project. She left in protest because she's an actual hero. The fallout for Buzzfeed has been...real bad, so naturally, they're suddenly open to discussion. Keep being loud about how Ai is NOT acceptable.

the post-ww2 order is a load-bearing assumption for basically the entirety of american life. trump took a sledgehammer to it in the last 90 days.

Legal precedents such as the Miller Test and state-level obscenity laws already ensure that there are no inappropriate books on school shelves. It’s unacceptable to me as a taxpayer to see so much time and effort being wasted on legislation that won’t do anything to help students learn and grow.
