One might argue that Congress must declare war. However both chambers of Congress took votes this week to decline to stop this & are thus allowing the parameters of a war. In this way, congress has abdicated their duty to declare war & have consented to let the president proceed without consequence.

We might disagree on this one, because when you threaten to send in troops on the ground And you are actively bombing a nation, you have started a war with them (in which that nation is obliged to retaliate against you).
A conflict sort of downplays the nature of the situation.

The same was true in the 2024 primaries as well. Biden was constantly getting more votes in the Dem primary than Trump was getting in the gop primaries in each respective state, even though Biden was basically unopposed. It's why folks thought we had the election in the bag.

Now look at every race in the past 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70+ years...how many featured a black nominee statewide, and how many didn't?

It is rare for a black candidate to top the ballot. That proves that there's an aversion to it. The examples you've mentioned are mere exceptions, and not the rule.

The first part of your statement is accurate, but the last part is not true re: the U.S. Senator primary and the Governor primary.
Ron Kirk (2002) was the last black nominee to top a statewide race for the office of Governor or Senator (outside of Allred, who was raised by his white mother.)

Now that she lost this election, she will no longer be in Congress when the new term starts, Which is what this whole election was about

Yes, but on the gerrymandering point, they just created another district that still has a lot of black voters in it that she wouldve easily won. But she didn't want to have to go to a new community, which is understandable. She instead endorsed her pastor to run for that new seat, & he won yesterday

She will be OUT of congress come January when Dems get the majority because she didn't run for a House seat and instead made this unlikely bid for a senate seat.
