i think morton uses mostly touch and smell to navigate but up close he can better make out shapes. so even if aster wasn’t wearing his amulet obviously he could Smell him but it just makes aster stand out more to him

i think morton is so fond of asters amulet not only because it’s a nice trinket but because his eyesight is shit and it’s the most identifiable thing on his person
