Have a lot of time for Thunder but, like a lot of Italian action genre stuff from the 80s: probably needs a decent quality release to do it justice. Following their foray into the Vietnam War and post-apocalypse stuff, perhaps it needs the likes of Severin.

AMARCORD (1973) on most days is my favorite Federico Fellini film.

It’s an amazing semi-autobiographical story featuring colorful, eccentric characters in a seaside Italian town during the fascist era.

It's a little unfocused isn't it. Sort of like how Cut and Run throws a gazillion ideas at the wall to see what sticks.. Apocalypse Now, Indiana Jones, Cannibal Holocaust.. etc. But it's got Sopkiw and he only did four films so be a pity to be too harsh on 25% of his filmography 😁

Remembering actor Barry Evans, who tragically died around this date in 1997. In 1967 he starred with Judy Geeson in Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush. He became a big star with the Doctor In The House series before going on to Adventures of a Taxi Driver in 1976 and Mine You Language from 1977.

What a striking film that was! Was a blind buy—picked up on strength of their curation and a love of Daughters of Darkness. No regrets on that at all. Was reading around the colour and it seems it may have been AGFA, similar to Sovfilm. So had a palette similar to Soviet Fantastika.
