Screenshot of a 3hr old post from the GW Hatchet: “BREAKING: GW sold its Virginia campus to Amazon Data Services, an Amazon subsidiary that manages the company's data centers, for $427 million on Friday. The deed, obtained by The Hatchet, authorizes ADS to develop the campus into a data or information technology center.
STORY TK”
GW‘s student newspaper appears to have broken the story that the institution has sold a satellite campus to Amazon to be turned into a data center, which is just about chef’s kiss for the state of American higher education rn

Hi folks, these days, when someone is having a health issue, it's referred to as an "opportunity," so let's go with that – I'm having one of those. It's also called a type of cancer that's “treatable” not "curable." I apologize if that's a shock – it was to
me too.
The good news is, I'm not gonna go into any more detail. I'm posting this, because professionally, a few things will have to change - appearances and cons and work in general need to take back seat to treatment.
My plan is to get as well as I possibly can over the summer so that I can tour with my new movie Ernie & Emma this fall.
There are several cons this year summer that I have to cancel. Big regrets on my part. Treatment needs and professional obligations don't always go hand-in-hand.
That's about it. I'm not trying enlist sympathy-or advice-Ijust want to get ahead of this information in case false information gets out (which it will).
Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch and I have great support, so I expect to be around a while.
As always, you're the greatest fans in the world and I hope to see you soon!
Much love,
Bruce Campbell

as always "how would the court rule on this case to maximally advance Republican interests" is a better barometer for SCOTUS' actions than "how should the law be reasonably applied based on past precedent"

As Kagan notes in her dissent, the Court opted not to hear the due process parental rights argument against bans on gender-affirming medical care in Skrmetti, basically setting up a regime where parents can force their trans children back into the closet but cannot help them out of it

My favorite part here is Justice Thomas joining the majority to endorse a substantive due process right without any explanation after basically saying that substantive due process is evil and incoherent in his lone Dobbs concurrence.

Secretary Rubio's remarks indicate that Israel put U.S. forces in harm's way by insisting on attacking Iran. And the administration was complicit—joining their war instead of talking them down
This is unacceptable of the President, and unacceptable of a country that calls itself our ally.
Going to see more and more non-leftist Democrats talking like this from now on

"The Court’s 101-word unexplained order can be summarized in just 7: “Rules for thee, but not for me.” Time and
again, this Court has said that federal courts have limited
jurisdiction. Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts should not interfere with state-court litigation.
Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts
should not meddle with state election laws ahead of an election. Today, the Court says: except for this one, except for
this one, and except for this one. Ignoring every limit on
federal courts’ authority, the Court takes the unprecedented step of staying a state trial court’s decision in a redistricting dispute on matters of state law without giving
the State’s highest court a chance to act. Because that order violates basic principles of jurisdiction, federalism, and
equity, I respectfully dissent."
The stay is not signed, as the shadow docket works, though Alito writes a concurrence and Sotomayor (joined by Kagan and Jackson) writes a lengthy dissent that starts by accusing the majority of going with "Rules for thee, but not for me."

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
No. 25A914
NICOLE MALLIOTAKIS, ET AL. v. MICHAEL WILLIAMS, ET AL.
ON APPLICATION FOR STAY
No. 25A915
PETER KOSINSKI, ET AL. v. MICHAEL WILLIAMS, ET AL.
ON APPLICATION FOR STAY
[March 2, 2026]
The applications for
stay presented
to
JUSTICE
SOTOMAYOR and by her referred to the Court are granted.
The January 21, 2026 order entered by the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County, Index No. 164002/2025, is stayed pending the disposition of the appeal in the New York state courts and disposition of a petition for a writ of certiorari in this Court, if such a writ is timely sought. Should certiorari be denied, this stay shall terminate automatically. In the event certiorari is granted, the stay shall terminate upon the issuance of the mandate of this Court.
JUSTICE SOTOMAYOR, with whom JUSTICE KAGAN and
JUSTICE JACKSON join, dissenting from grant of stay.
The Court's 101-word unexplained order can be summarized in just 7: "Rules for thee, but not for me." Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts have limited jurisdiction. Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts should not interfere with state-court litigation.
Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts should not meddle with state election laws ahead of an elec-tion. Today, the Court says: except for this one, except for this one, and except for this one. Ignoring every limit on federal courts' authority, the Court takes the unprecedented step of staying a state trial court's decision in a re-districting dispute on matters of state law without giving the State's highest court a chance to act. Because that order violates basic principles of jurisdiction, federalism, and equity, I respectfully dissent.
BREAKING: SCOTUS blocks New York state court redistricting order, over the strong dissent of the Democratic appointees.
