Proud of this collaboration with Philip Van Damme’s team: we show that microglia and astrocytes behave differently in sporadic vs. C9orf72 ALS across human tissue, iPSC-derived cells and in vivo xenografts.

For me, it’s especially rewarding to see neuroimmunology gaining momentum—not as a silo, but as an integral part of how we tackle complex brain diseases. We’re building the infrastructure and community to ask deeper, more functional questions, and we’re doing it together as a team.

We’re evolving CMN along two intersecting axes, neurogenetics and neuroimmunology, and backing that vision with strategic investments in talent, technology, and collaboration.
