A monument of a Canadian toonie on a pedestal. The giant two-dollar coin is 27 ft (8.23 m) high. Photo shows the tails side, with CANADA 2 DOLLARS on the silver-coloured outer circle and the polar bear in the golden-coloured middle. It's in a park with pathways and tall trees.
Campbellford, Ontario, Canada
Toonie Tuesday
Actually I took the photo on a Wednesday. It would've been cool if it had been a Tuesday though.
Anybody else miss the days when two bucks could buy you a cheap lunch?

A black butterfly with white spots sits on my hand, wings together. There are large green leaves in the background and I am holding a pamphlet with a parrot visible on it.
The edges of the butterfly's wings are tattered, showing that it is not very young. It's possible that somebody tried to pick it up. Please, if you visit a butterfly garden, do not attempt to pick up the butterflies!

Two tiger lily flowers on a stem. They are orange with dark spots, and their petals curl upward while the long stamens fall downward. It had rained recently, and the slender leaves are wet while raindrops cling to the flowers.
Two Of A Kind
It's easy to see why these beauties are called Tiger Lilies.

A carved wooden statue of an eagle, wings spread upward and talons reaching forward, with two large fish below it. The tips of the wings reach almost to the ceiling.

Terrible pun aside, this was an impressive statue and I wish the photo did it better justice.

Photo shows an ocean bay, calm and flat, with a rocky beach and large white clouds in a blue sky. An ideal summer day that looks a bit like a child's drawing.

Millions Of Pounds
The average weight of a cumulus cloud is 1.1 million pounds, or 500,000 kilograms. But they still look like cotton candy to me.

A fifteen-foot high loonie (dollar coin in Canada) stands on a pedestal. It has the iconic loon on it, with the year 1987 and the words CANADA DOLLAR.
This monument is in Echo Bay, Ontario, Canada.
Loonie
Where do you find loonies this big?
The dollar store!
I'll see myself out.

An indoor pond with koi fish and a waterfall is surrounded by many colourful flowers and large green leaves.
Photo taken at Butchart Gardens, near Victoria, BC, Canada.
A Peaceful Pond
#Vibrant can mean 'full of life' as well as 'colourful', so I thought this photo would be especially apt for today's #BlueSkyArtShow.

A Cackling Goose, very similar to a Canada Goose, stands on one leg on a rock in shallow water and gazes into the distance. Another goose in the background is swimming away.
The title is a quote from the show Firefly.
Sad Little King Of A Sad Little Hill
For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme #MoodyFaces, a Cackling Goose who doesn't feel like cackling. Maybe they got tired of being mistaken for a Canada Goose. Maybe the other goose got tired of hearing about it. Who knows.

A peacock standing in a road with tail fully fanned out. The view is from behind; the backs of the tail feathers are white, and the body is grey and brown. The head and front of the body are not visible.

An enormous recreation of a double bit axe with a yellow shaft. The metal head shines in the sunlight and appears to be partly buried in the ground. It is in a park, with flowers in the foreground and trees in the background.
It's in Nackawic, New Brunswick, Canada.

A little girl and her small dog run downhill to the park. There are tall trees on both sides and brown leaves on the ground. Above and ahead of her, the sun shines on yellow leaves on the trees.

Looking upwards at a maple tree with large, mostly yellow leaves. The largest leaf is almost completely yellow and lit by the sunlight against a darker background, shining like gold.

The sun fell practically perfectly on this golden maple leaf. It was a special moment that I couldn't quite do justice to, but I tried.

A round room in a lighthouse with a square post in the middle. There is a bed with a quilt, two large photos of the lighthouse, a small table, and two display cabinets on the wall filled with seashells. On the left the stairs go up, and on the right the stairs go down. A sign on the post warns that the stairs are steep. In fact, you have to descend by going backwards, like a ladder!
The lighthouse is Point Prim Lighthouse in PEI, Canada, and is unusual among brick lighthouses in Canada for being round instead of square.
Itty Bitty Living Space
Ever wonder what it would be like to have a room in a round lighthouse? This should give you an idea!
To be fair, the lighthouse keepers did also have a proper home nearby. But I'd need a nap after all those stairs, too!

Fossil? Gemstone? It's both! In southwestern Alberta, Canada, millions of years of pressure, heat, and mineralization created this beauty. Isn't it something!

Photo was taken from the side of the highway in a mountain pass. There are tall mountains with snow on them in the background, and it is beginning to grow dark. A semi truck is barely visible in the distance but the highway is otherwise empty.
