β€˜Heartland’ Review: When Larry Bird Took Flight Before his NBA career, Larry Bird’s quiet nature helped build his legend as Indiana State’s β€œsecret weapon.”

Did a WSJ review of Keith O'Brien's deep dive into Larry Bird called "Heartland." I'm sorry if you can't get around the sub block. Bird would probably go through it. bit.ly/4shr6n0

She's a washed-up HAS-been so-called guitarist and a nasty, nasty woman. Only LOSER liberals will be there! I'm ordering an investigation of all who bought tickets (MOST were paid to by Shifty Adam Schiff and democrat election riggers)! Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!"

"I've been told that some people β€” DERANGED radical leftists of the FAILING democrat party β€” will be skipping (HIDING FROM!!!) my big, beautiful STaTE of the UNION (though we are far from UNITED!!!) address to see Vicki "YICKY" Peterson in a tiny far-left enclave.

When I told a great ex-Sorts Illustrated editor named Rich O'Brien about the fact that my wife and I will be at a concert tonight (Vicki Peterson and John Cowsill) instead of watching the State of the Union, Rich put together a "Truth Social" that uncannily captured Trump's derangement. Here 'tis:

Months ago we bought tickets to see the married duo of Vicki Peterson and John Cowsill, not knowing it would be the same night as the State of the Union, which we will now be unable to watch. Oh, sometimes the stars align.

Different feel this A.M. I did not wake up saying, "Hey, what time is two-man bobsled?"

Okay, that's good. Bragg for the win. Plus, 20 years ago my son worked for your Musicians Against Sweatshops campaign.

"Hanzlik sucked," was a familiar Doug line, which was Hanzlik's cue to give it back to him. Anybody who covered Doug came away with a smile. Doug was a great player, too, but got caught up in the point-shaving scandal of the 60s because he didn't report a bribe offer. RIP to an American original.

Doug Moe never won a title, but there was no better assignment than going to Denver and doing a story on the Nuggets. Or whatever other reason you could figure out to get there. He had a running routine with players such as Bill Hanzlik, to whom he would turn the conversation no matter what happened

It's a spelling issue along with a historical/theological one.

2: You can cross INSIDE the barrier in short track?
1: There’s a restriction.
2: Like what?
1: Got me.
3: How do biathloners get rifles through security?
1: Maybe they skate to every venue.
2: You can buy a book that explains all this stuff.
1: If we do it soon we should know this stuff by 2030.

1: You def could NOT do bobsled. Or anything else.
2: Skeleton’s gotta be the scariest.
1: Luge. You can’t see.
3: You can see, just not very well.
2: Why would you CHOOSE to skate to Meat Loaf?
1: It’s his voice; you don’t have to look at him.
3: Show some respect. Loaf passed a while back.

3: Having the second place skater count wouldn’t make any sense.
2: Do they have to keep touching their teammate’s butt?
3: I can’t imagine Mexico has many ice skating facilities
1: I wonder if figure skates are sharp.
2: They’re knives for God’s sake.
3: I think I could do bobsled.

1: Are they wearing bowling shoes?
2: I’d like to get a broom like that.
3: I saw a story about added air in the crotch making you fly farther.
2: Seems like that might slow you down.
1: Is it the first person across the line that counts?
3: It’s the third.
1: That doesn’t make any sense.

Three typical Americans switching channels as they watch the Winter Olympics:
Speaker 1: So getting the disc right in the middle circle doesn’t matter all that much?
Speaker 2: It’s not a disc, it’s a stone.
Speaker 1: Whatever.
Speaker 3: I think the scoring’s like cornhole

Column | Lucas Pinheiro Braathen dared to be who he is. He won gold because of it. Brazil’s first Winter Olympic gold medalist has a message worth listening to after his victory in the men’s giant slalom.

These are the kinds of stories that will be eliminated because Bezos shut down his sports department. If only his ex-wife could find a way into his wallet. wapo.st/3ZE63P3

At every Olympics I covered (Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney, Athens and London) I decided to skip the Opening Ceremonies. Not much happens over five hours. Then I decided to go anyway. And it was always worth it. Can't really explain why hordes of athletes waving is an emotional experience. But it is.

Sen. Tim Scott, a Trump apologist and enabler, said more than he intended in his reaction to Trump's racist post on Truth Social: β€œPraying it was fake because it’s the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House." In other words, he's seen other racist stuff, this was just the worst.

Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and The Band notwithstanding, I didn't understand how cool Canada was until I began watching the SCTV sketches in the mid-70s. Levy-Flaherty-Candy were all cool, but the coolest might've been Catherine O'Hara. RIP to a legend.

With "Melania" opening today--in theaters near you!--I'm speculating about which movie box offices our President will invoke as a comparison. I'm guessing "Gone With The Wind," which the movie will be, and "Titanic," the proper adjective to go with "Flop." Thanks for listening.
