2 points off 3rd. It’s entirely possible that United finish 15th again.

But with so many dropping points around us, top 4 is there for the taking IF we can string together some good results.

With 1 game a week, EVERY game is a big game. Brighton next.

Couldn’t be happier for Harry Maguire. Wish him only good things after the torrent of abuse he suffered.

He talks so well and you can see it means so much to him.

His resilience, determination and strength of character can only be admired.

Ineos have copped a lot of stick but think Ugarte aside, every signing has been good. Jury is still out on some like Šeško but Cunha & Mbeumo are absolute United players & 2 games in, Lammens has already made a huuuuge difference.

Will Ineos get the credit they’re due? Doubt it.

Curious to see the media coverage after United’s win at Anfield, given how most journos are absolutely lapping up every move from Slot and Liverpool.

Will be interesting to see the scrutiny Slot gets compared to Amorim.

I completely think had he had a competent director of football, & therefore better squad building, I’ve no doubt he would have done well. I also feel he could have recovered from the Watford game. Fans now are begging for him back and he shouldn’t. It almost destroyed him and we can’t do that again.

So many Twitter fans wanted Olé out at the time. And looking back, his time is still the most fun since SAF retired and only back to back top 4 finishes. Olé for lots of reasons shouldn’t come back but hopefully he gets the respect he deserved at the time.

It genuinely pains me that we may end up sacking yet another manager and continuing to repeat the cycle yet it is completely necessary and inevitable and has felt inevitable all season.

United really deserved nothing out of that game. First 10 minutes deceived us. Gradually lost control through 1st half and never really regained it.

You’re either giving pressure or taking it. Performance has guaranteed that manager and team are back under pressure. No let up.

Just my own observation. We seem really afraid of taking risks high up the pitch. Very worried to lose the ball.

But seem very happy to take risks closer to goal.

It’s only been one league game but think all of last season’s top 4 have quite a few flaws. In previous season’s there has always been at least one if not two stand out teams. But I am not sure there is. I could be dreaming and jury is out on United but maybe…top 4…maybe.

My son idolised Garnacho…easily his favourite player.

Turns out he’s a silly boy who is being very badly advised. Who knows how his career will pan out, but there is a litany of stories of players who were immature and left United to then not go on to fulfil their potential.

Kobbie most have been disappointed not to have at least come on. Not sure why he’s not getting more game time.

I’m convinced the 1 game a week and no Europe is a blessing in disguise.

But I already want the next game to be here. 🤦‍♂️ Waiting a week will be just rubbish. 😂

My hope for the season is that United become a coherent and cohesive team that look well coached. This was the first step towards that. Results will come if we put in good performances.

But above all else, I’d like performances that generate positivity and optimism.

Mount is like a new signing. Think he can rotate with Mbeumo and Cunha and more than contribute. Think his contribution is underrated and he’s judged on his jury record. If he can stay fit, think he’ll be an important player.

I’m interested in how we do against the Brighton’s and Bournemouth’s in the league. Teams play are well coached but are not top tier who often cause United the most trouble. Not being glass half empty. Very encouraging performance. Performance more important than result.

No question, Amorim is making a point to Onana and probably the exec management.

I’m now feeling like United will force the keeper situation to get a new keeper in.

Not sure we’ve learnt much we didn’t already know. United need a new keeper and a midfielder.

That’s not strictly true, we’ve learnt much more about the United we should see this season and just how much Mbeumo and Cunha will transform this team. Mount like a new signing too.

Ugarte did himself no favours today. On the back of this, think Casemiro will play a lot of games.

Can see Ugarte being in next summer’s bomb squad with games like that and he only played about 30 minutes.

That’s a good question and I’m not sure there is a stand out but probably Henderson. That isn’t to say he’s amazing but a solid pair of hands. A little arrogant. Used to the league. Whether fans would have him back….

Mbeumo and Cunha are completely vindicating the decision to be buy premier league proven players. Looking very comfortable.

Putting the goal aside….United the better team and there is enough here to suggest United won’t be as bad as last season. Doesn’t mean we’re going to finish top whatever or can’t be improved upon. But we’re not playing shit. Encouraging.,

If that doesn’t push them to get a keeper….completely saveable goal. Arsenal been poor so far but doesn’t matter when you gift wrap goals like that.

If Utd had bid 150m, we’d have been criticised for over spending. If we had gone for someone easier to sign, lack of ambition. If we’d kept pursuing, then not learning from the de Jong saga.

No win situation for Ineos & transfer isn’t 100% in their hands. Can’t fault them tbh.
