A private thrill ran through him and he couldn’t keep a giddy smile off his face. It kept happening, every time he remembered and his teeth ached in his mouth, he couldn’t keep the excitement from showing. His family had asked him numerous times and he’d brushed it off as enthusiasm for the vacation and their precious time together. He could tell after a while they stopped believing him. They were suspicious, he was sure. Especially his brother. But they never pried and he appreciated that. They would know soon enough. He chipped away at his emails, answering the ones that couldn’t afford to wait another two weeks, before grabbing his phone and starting to move through his list of ‘people who need to be informed that I won’t be responding for a while’. It was staggeringly long and he found himself thinking more than a few times that he needed less friends. Or, at least, less people who would panic being left on read for two weeks. He scrolled past his messages with his manager and another smile crept its way onto his face as his eyes flicked over their most recent conversation. His gaze strayed across the room to the other reason he’d had to come back early and the uncontrollable giddiness erupted through him again, forcing his hands into fists as he fought to keep his fangs from dropping. This time he didn’t succeed and he growled in frustration as they slid out of his gums, clumsy and ungainly in his mouth. Another problem that had been happening more often recently. He set his computer aside, tapping the tips of his feet against the ground. Surely it wouldn’t hurt to go look at them again.

As a break from crashing out over e word, have a very very late Wip Wednesday 🤲 This one is a snippet from the chrysalis finale fic, it’s nowhere close to done and it’ll be a while still before it’s posted, but here’s a sneak peek!
