When I had my SLKs, A-Class, 500 SEC, 300CE etc. my go to parts supply was online ordering from Inchape. Pretty sure it was run by Andrew Loft & they made DIY-maintaining Mercs so easy.

A pair of Mercedes C320 SportCoupes. The foreground car is obsidian black and sold for £800 on eBay. The background car is emerald black and was advertised for £2700 on Car & Classic. I haggled a bit...
The black car already had an Android head unit. Both cars have 107,000 miles on and have the upgraded perforated nappa leather rather than artico interior, and heated seats.
I bought the second car thinking it was good value for spaces but it's got a longer MOT, the sunroof works apart from the rear blind, and it has cheaper tyres. So I'm using it rather than the green one, which I'll fix the roof on.
The 1100 litre boot with seats down is why I didn't just buy another SLK. It has a wide and fairly flat area for loading things.
I get it, I do. If I wanted a nice coupe in 2026 I'd totally pay £8000 and £450 a month to drive a Honda Prelude, to escape the indignity of an £800 banger like this 3.2-litre V6 Mercedes and shoving the PCP payment off the mortgage...
It even has leather on the back seats like some sort of relic.
At the very least the MP salary should be prorata for nige.
But I doubt he'd notice.
Is the DVLA dragging out sending V5s so cars end up taxed in April, or is the post office just not bothering with letters now?
So annoying that changing a cherished number is online all the way but the V5 I'm waiting for post to get a reference to tax a car. You used to be able to do all 3 at a VRO

Two C320s with faded badges

The C320 in the foreground is the cheaper one but it's behaving itself. The fancy one can just watch the 'spares car' get the nice things
Black cars are hard work to clean, but it looks good with the new badge against polished paint. Shame I can do one panel a time before pain wins.

The right hand rear tail light of a Mercedes C320 SportCoupe with a chrome badge that reads "Improbability drive" next to the symbol for infinity. Who knows, perhaps this one is from another universe where an infinite number of options created a C320 with a Heart of Gold. Unlike the other car, the chap that sold this one to me is a real Hoopy Frood.

But the roof closed as these two C320s show - one of the sellers is getting all the good karma vibes, the other, their next three takeaways will be cold and disappointing, and their favourite food in them will be wrong.
My C320s roof was a big reason I wanted it and it doesn't work. Why are some car sellers so... stereotypical.
Some, not all. The one that sold on eBay then didn't, so I got it, was from a lovely bloke who made no grand claims for it and said he hadn't touched the sunroof in years.
