It’s Long Covid Awareness Day (which I think should be the Ides of March, for reasons that will become clear.)
Some of you have heard this before. But I wanted to share my Long Covid story, because I think you should hear it.
On my birthday in November 2022, I woke up with Covid.
Just finished putting together the hearts and banner for the #vancouver event. At the Vancouver Art Gallery Sunday 15th 11h30 a.m. start.

Today is #LongCovidAwarenessDay
Long Covid changed my life beyond recognition. I got ill. I never recovered. Lost my job. Became housebound. I rely on others to do things for me. I lie on my bed most of the day.
Watch the Guardian's short film about my life with #LongCovid 👇
It's #LongCovidAwarenessDay & co-incidentally my 4th anniversary of #LivingWithLongCovid.
Good news: every month I get that little bit better. I am the Queen of pacing!
Bad news: there is no cure, no treatment, just patience.
Sending love & spoons to all my fellow #ME/CFS #LC friends today.
When I got Long Covid, I was 38 and healthy. If you are anything like I was then, it is hard to understand how bad Long Covid is. I think that we all have an instinct to just… look away. But, please, it is important that you look. #LongCovidAwarenessDay
It's Long Covid Awareness Day. I know ~10 people (still) suffering from life-altering Long Covid. The only 'special' thing about me? I've been public about my own illness, so I hear stories others don't. Long Covid is widespread, devastating, and deserves everyone's attention
Today is Long Covid Awareness Day: I know there’s a lot going on in the world right now, but please don’t scroll past this one!

Philly Philly representin’ this weekend! 👏👏👏International LC Awareness Day (March 15th) scrolling atop the @pecoconnect.bsky.social building! Check it out, if you are local.
We're thrilled to release the #LongCovid Treatment Guide! This is a collaboration with @rthm.bsky.social to help patients & providers explore treatment options together.
The guide focuses on 24 medications, but includes a few other interventions for breadth /1
6 year Covidversary. The guy at the bakery thought this was a joke but it’s not 💔 #LongCovid took everything. My career, marriage, ability to stand, move, think, make art, maintain friendships, be an aunt/daughter/mother, my beloved forests & mountains & waters, my faith in humans, every last dream
New from @latimes.com:
“Yet new COVID infections are producing new #LongCovid patients. People who were healthy and active just a few months ago are still arriving at USC’s clinic with cardiovascular and cognitive problems that have upended their lives.”
The #LongCOVID 24 hr Marathon Space begins today, Sunday, March 15.
I will join around 10:30 pm Central and hope to chat and fill in as a co-host as needed.
You can find a link in my pinned Tweet on the Bird App. 🙏
Can anyone recommend a computer desk setup for a bed-bound friend?
Long Covid Awareness Day is coming up (on 15th March). If you share your own LC story on here for the day, please DM it to me and I will amplify! www.longcovidawareness.life

I aim to confuse
It is funny
9YO had not heard of Cash and Nico (but is watching Minecraft videos on YouTube as I write): we will check out with thanks for the tip!
FNF is also big in our household (and is also stupidly hard)!
Haha our kids are clearly well-aligned! It was indeed EVW 9YO was telling me about, and he sings the gangster rap non-stop (and plays the level). Very cool that your son is creating himself, I will share with 9YO :)
With my ageing fine-motor skills and slowing reflexes
I have played it, and am AWFUL
9YO was just telling me about a Geometry Dash player who “is really good, even though he’s 39 years old”. I am 44. I will never recover from this devastating blow
Epilogue: I got another email like this today, and then I looked up the paper and discovered that it was real, I had co-authored it and then forgotten about it
Pretty bold to include a hallucinated citation putatively written by the very person to whom you are applying
My work is so influential that prospective PhD students are now being influenced by papers that an LLM thinks I wrote but actually did not
You’d think so, but to my knowledge this question has only been addressed in lab settings e.g. Lindsley et al. (2021),
pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC..., Patel et al. (2016)
pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC....
Source control is more effective than receiver control (intuitively)
Thanks David! One-way masking in a FFP3 seems to be working for me, but I have other layers of protection in addition (regular vaccination, clean air)
