Her “Meal in a Bag” is meant to provide ppl with a complete meal that is $8 or less, is shelf stable, & can be made without access to a full kitchen. I love this as a direct aid option. Good for neighbors & elders who can’t/wont go to a pantry.

For those asking why so many of us are focused on the SNAP situation and pushing to get the facts out… 42 million people losing access to food right before the holidays could cause chaos like this country’s never seen before. People deserve to know who’s really responsible.

They also HATE to see people driving to food banks with nice cars. Have you ever for a second stopped to consider that the car is paid off and that their situation has changed? Or that it isn't even their car in the first place? Or that they're giving someone a ride????

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you have friends struggling through the shutdown, consider inviting them over for a family dinner this week. Make too much. Insist they take leftovers home. Some folks can't say they need help out loud but will appreciate the kindness.
