It's a strange talking point since magafolk don't know what it means either

<<Texas AG is not needed for her to be Attorney General of the United States>>

I know it isn't "needed".

No one said it was needed.

Politics is about making choices. She made the choice she thought was best in 2026. Now she will either seek a House seat in '28 or wait for Cruz in '30.

Or both.

I am also referring to her keeping a seat in the House.

Yes, Rcons redrew TX-30 specifically to move her into TX-33, & changed the demographics of TX-30 and TX-33 to dilute Democratic support.

But Crockett was STILL the strongest possible Democratic candidate for either TX-30 or TX-33. By a mile.

Did she say she didn't want it?

I've heard her name mentioned as a future AG of the United States someday, and state level AG experience for a major state like Texas is an excellent stepping stone for that.

She didn't have to "move to" the new district.

The lines were drawn so that she is now living in a different district (TX-33).

She also could have run in her old district (TX-30).

But the chance at a Senate seat will not come again for four years, so I understand why she ran for the Senate.

I agree. She has more name recognition, ability to raise money, & media savvy than any of the candidates running in her new district or her old district; and there was nothing to stop her from running in her old district. (There's no requirement that you have to live in a district to represent it.)

Why do you think that is relevant here?

Are Roman Catholics more or less likely to vote for one Democratic candidate over the other?

or are they presumed to be forced birthers and therefore vote Republicon?

Good point--the cover letter is supposed to explain why your skills, education and previous experience are a good fit for the job you are applying for.

Anne Richards was governor from 1991-1995

Senator Lloyd Bentsen (how quickly they forget) was 1971-1993

So, 30 years ago is about right.

Is Talarico a moderate?

04.03.2026 15:27 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

I hope she doesn't stay out of politics for four whole years

The governor's race is also this year.

Won't be vacant again until 2030.

THIS

I'd like to see a LOT more blame going towards Republicons in this matter

She could have run for TX AG this year. Now that seat is filled until 2030, just like Cruz's seat.

I think bloodraven is complimenting Crockett, by noticing that she did NOT whine or cry about the election being rigged the way the fool in the WH does

It HAS turned toxic among some supporters, but I'm glad there is dignity from the candidate herself.

In December she had every reason to believe she could beat Talarico easily.

Things worked out differently than expected.

I don't blame her for making the big move instead of playing it safe. That's a sign of leadership.

I don't know if those DFW seats are safe D, but she had a shot at either one.

Ooo! THAT'S a good idea to hope for! Maybe Cruz will RETIRE!!! Then we wouldn't have to wait as long to take his seat!!!

04.03.2026 14:42 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

She didn't "lose" her seat. She could have run for TX30, or TX33 (the district she was gerrymandered into).

She has more name recognition, ability to raise money, & media savvy than any of the candidates in either of those races.

She swung for the fences, & I admire that, but it didn't work out.

Cruz doesn't run again until 2030.

I think she could have won TX 30 or TX 33, but she decided to go for the Senate seat and she had every right to make that that decision.

I will keep asking that question for a long time.

The filing deadline decision caught a lot of people by surprise.
