It used to be a regular thing for visible Jews but I think the Internet provided simpler.(and less expensive!) options. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be...

Just had some proper retro antisemitism, took me back to the 80s & NF skinhead teens. I was on the tube & someone threw a penny at my feet then waited to see if I'd pick it up - old school! It does prove that fashions always return if you wait long enough, so hang on to those fur coats & crinolines!

Penicillin's great. The spinning jenny was a marvel. The Hadron Collider - wow! But there is no invention that can compare to the exhilaration of discovering the skip recap/skip intro function on the TV. I rest my case.

I mean, I love it when a plan comes together, but I couldn’t help but wonder whether wishing would make it so. It’s no way to live long and prosper. You earn what you take, the truth is out there. I felt frustration build, and we all know anger leads to hate. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.

Good grief. “I don’t believe it, that’s what she said?”
“Yep, the girl is an island unto herself. It won’t be a problem, don’t panic, I’ll be back with tomorrow’s piece. I have a cunning plan. Here’s one I made earlier, I started so I’ll finish.” He sounds confident.
“As you wish,” I respond.

“It’s a no from me”, I think to myself.
“Just one more thing”, he continues.
“I’m listening.”
“Winter is coming, the cold never bothered me anyway, but my wife wants us to keep dancing to stay warm.”

Tom Cruise is not Jack Reacher. The brilliance of ET did not deserve to be forced into a bad novel. The Princess Bride is perfect whether you read it or watch it. No cinematic version of The🦁The🧙🏻‍♀️&The🚪 will be as powerful as the book to a curious child. But mostly, Tom Cruise is not Jack Reacher.

Today I led an improv games session at a teambuilding event for a load of GPs at a conference. Suffice it to say that their "yes, and..." stories went to some really dark and grossly hilarious places!

We're both silent for a minute. Then I can't help myself. Very quietly I sing “Champion, the Wonder Horse” & he laughs & I laugh until I cry then I do feel more relaxed & he falls asleep & I lie in the dark singing “Champion the Wonder Horse” in my head until my brain switches off & I sleep too

Mark takes a breath and returns to his calm, nighttime demeanour. “Why don't we give this another go tomorrow? Maybe it takes practise. Hopefully you'll be able to fall asleep, you're not still thinking about chairs, are you?”
“No… I'm thinking about the theme song to Champion the Wonder Horse”.

“I am just. Trying. To pick. A. Chair!”

..Do you remember the black chairs in my parents kitchen? They were a copy of that “ant” design, I love ants, once I watched a 2 hour documentary on ants & didn't even get up from the couch to pee! Did you know that ants…”
