Three jobs I'm 100% qualified for and that I've applied to in the past few weeks have been reposted and I think my head is going to explode at this point. (Oh, wait, the shrapnel of my oldness might hit the 30something hiring manager if that happens. Silly me, I'll just grab the nearest ice floe.)

My dad's town FB page had a post from someone concerned that the non-emergency police line is now answered by AI. The post is getting responses from other residents like "so you're against new tech?" And "this is the way of the world, we have to get used to it." JFC 😐

Summer 84 is just incredible. The Classic AT40 channel on iHeart has had June 30 in its rotation for years and it's one of my favorite countdowns.

Update: It took all afternoon yesterday and two hours this AM and I'm 80 percent done digging out. Snow is now my job!

Last snow storm I turned onto the highway behind an SUV with a mountain of snow on the roof. I moved into the lane next to them, fearing the snow would hit me, but it slid down their windshield and blocked their view instead. They were able to pull over instead of, you know, hurt someone. But still.

Already saw one person drive past my house with a foot of snow on the roof of their car. Feeling really great about driving/walking the next few days 😐

I'm not sure what the actual snow total is because my yard seems to be one big drift. My sidewalk is 23 inches (probably influenced by the 3-foot fence on one side). Pray for my back.

Anyway, seeing customers call out AI-introduced errors/how terrible its output looks on my old co.'s subreddit has been super vindicating the last few months. Maybe don't cut people when the team you're forcing the automated, error-making toddler onto is already stretched thin, just a thought?
