So I fell off the internet for a couple of weeks. My immune system attacks my brain, and apparently this time my brain decided to retaliate by playing chicken with a blood clot.

Today’s historic Pride chant comes from the 1980s-1990s:

The most common one I hear is “why doesn’t the military get a month.”

May is Military Appreciation Month. It has been OFFICIALLY for 25+ years, after the decree for it passed congress in 1999.

The fact that no one does anything for that is on them. Celebrations of a community come from within it.

Today’s Pride in defiance:

You’re going to hear a lot of “Why doesn’t anyone throw parades for ___?”

MOST things have a month/week/day of celebration, find it.

And remind them no one throws Pride FOR us. We get permits, arrange events, etc.

WE put in the work.

So should they.

As we come into Pride Month, know the ACLU is tracking attempts at anti-LGBTQ legislation state by state.

Right now, they’re at 588.

“Be gay, do crime” means being authentically be yourself. It can be dangerous, I know.

Stay safe. Because the fight isn’t over. It’s every day.

Also, I appreciate and want to encourage acts of resistance that aim to change the nightmarish landscape of American politics.

(I’m still TERRIBLE at replying but please know that comments are my life. I read every one and cherish them, then flub how to express that because “thank you for reading!” sounds disingenuous/customer-service and not enough to express my thanks).

These are the men that they’re going to give the personal, private medical records of every diagnosed autistic American to.

I they are creating registries of people they find subhuman, and researching ways to eradicate their future existence.

Don’t for a second think otherwise.
