Did Pluto ‘kiss and capture’ its largest moon?
A new potential mechanism by which Pluto trapped Charon.
The dwarf planet Pluto may have captured its largest moon Charon by first kissing and capturing it before releasing it a few hours later.
That's what new computational models suggest in any case, as published in a new paper in the journal Nature Geoscience.
