oh some invite endpoints had on outage on Thursday which caused incorrect 429 responses, so if you access invite endpoints a lot, that might have caused an issue at that time

additionally, if your bot token is getting reset, you should have gotten a system dm with details, but that happens if you connect to the gateway 1000 times in a day which also means there is an issue you need to fix.

that limit is 10k invalid requests per 10 mins, so if you are hitting it there is an issue you need to fix.

hmm this looks like a temp IP block which should only happen if you do a lot of invalid requests. discord.com/developers/d...

hmm I don't think we've heard of this issue and I can't seem to reproduce it, do you have any more details?

yeah I've noticed both ChatGPT and Claude doing this, I assume it's for increasing engagement

Two screenshots from Chrome DevTools side-by-side. On the left it says "Before" and shows that rendering took 1518 milliseconds. On the right it says "After" and shows that rendering took 610 milliseconds.

Here's your friendly reminder that CSS selectors are global and evaluated RTL, so if you have selectors that are very broad like `.container > div` you might be impacting performance in a measurable way πŸ™ˆ

disagree with that last part. it is certainly useful even with those requirements

we call getBlob on the pds and put the video url in the message. when you load it, it just goes through our standard media proxy that automatically caches all files

I feel like "open source company" strategies seem to generally not work out except for the classic "sell hosting". maybe also "sell enterprise support". I know Bun was planning to copy Deno and launch a serverless hosting service before they got bought by Anthropic

imo its wild that people view the verification as an endorsement. making it clear that stuff is written by the government doesn't mean you agree with it, it's just important for people to know that

if you only type a time you'll get time only options

18.01.2026 02:43 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

oh looks like this happens if you have markdown preview turned off for the chat box. we should probably remove the @time option in that case, along with the legacy chat input mode cc @rcombs.me

hmm did you select the @time option in the autocomplete? do you have a video?

that part is just a concept, I don't think any editor actually supports it. vscode added support for setting a separate font for copilot suggestions but that's it

this is not true. when a bluesky post fails to embed, it is because bluesky is rate limiting us from accessing their api. the "implementing their own appview" thing is just us loading video files from the pds - everything other than that uses bluesky's api.

Google killing the Tenor API is a bizarre move, they are making a great antitrust argument against them

looks like jxl does support animation, but we already have animated webp and avif which are often used as gif alternatives when videos can't be

13.01.2026 23:57 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I think you can just add .gif to a tenor url to get it as a gif file, idt there is a way to get webps like that tho
