There is only one source of money (and wealth) in πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§: the Govt. New money can only come through Govt spending and old money is removed through taxation. How you spend that money and who you tax determines what kind of society you have. #MMT

Scottish citizens are really pissed off with the exorbitant amount of money its costing to protect donnylad a convicted felon, while he plays golf.

Calling him a misogynistic criminal that shouldn't be allowed into the country, let alone protected by Scottish
taxpayers.

Want to import toxic chemicals into Britain with scant scrutiny? Labour says: go right ahead | George Monbiot Jacob Rees-Mogg’s Tory fantasy of a post-Brexit bonfire of regulations is coming true. Our bodies and ecosystems will pay the price, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Sorry to burden you with another jaw-dropping scandal. But what the government intends to do to chemicals regulation in the UK is chilling. Its consultation was slipped out so quietly that most of us missed it. When I read it, I saw why.

Along with other countries, the UK promised "concrete actions" in response to the Netanyahu government back in May.

And still all we have is words from David Lammy.

Words are not enough. We need strong action.

High water bills, filthy rivers – and now drought. This is England's great artificial water crisis of 2025 | George Monbiot In its refusal to nationalise water, it’s clear the government operates in the interests of private capital and not of the country, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

β€œNothing undermines climate resilience in this country as much as the private ownership of our water system, and nothing reveals the drought of political ambition like the refusal to renationalise it.”

Reeves's electric car subsidies

She had a choice between:

a) Β£3,700 subsidy to help one person to buy a new Β£37,000 electric car

or

b) Β£3,700 to subsidise 4 terraced houses in a poor area to unloop and put in chargers so that they can run second-hand electric cars

Answers please?

Reeves says rules and red tape are β€˜boot on the neck’ of business At the Mansion House dinner she calls for regulators to allow more risk to clear the way for economic growth

Cutting "red tape" (aka public protections), as Reeves is doing, does not save money. Instead, it transfers costs from the rich to the poor. Other people pay for financial recklessness, filthy rivers, air pollution, lax building standards and consumer rip-offs.
