This Women’s History Month, I’m thinking about the generations of Kentucky women who paved the way by breaking barriers, speaking up, and serving their communities with grit and grace.
I’ll keep fighting to make sure the next generation of women knows there is nothing they can’t do.

The Constitution is clear: the power to declare war belongs to Congress.
Read my statement on the President’s unconstitutional military action in Iran and the urgent need for an immediate war powers vote.

Live updates: Tehran launches retaliatory strikes as Trump calls for regime change
The U.S. and Israel struck Iran on Saturday. President Donald Trump said the Iranian public should “take over" their government. The first strikes appeared to target Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Al...
I served 3 combat tours over our 20 years of war in the Middle East. Trump had an entire SOTU address to make the case for going to war in Iran. He did not.
Congress is absent, & for years, it has ceded its war making powers. Now, Trump has started another foreign war.

I’m honored to have the endorsement of Virginia Woodward.
Virginia has spent her life standing up for Kentucky women, families, and equal opportunity.
Her support means a great deal to me. Together, we’re going to keep fighting for fairness, opportunity, and a Kentucky that works for everyone.

This week I was thrilled join the Changemakers panel at our local public elem. school with students who are already asking big questions about leadership, service & making a difference in their community.
I was proud to be there as a veteran, candidate for the U.S. Senate and as Eleanor's mom.

Even FOX Business is reporting it.
A new Washington Post poll shows 64% of Americans disapprove of Donald Trump’s tariffs.
And now we've got Mitch McConnell praising the Supreme Court for striking them down.
Funny how some Republicans only admit it on the eve of their retirement. What a joke.

Kentucky Supreme Court strikes down charter school funding law as unconstitutional
The court ruled the law violates the Kentucky Constitution.
The Kentucky Supreme Court got it right. Public education dollars belong in our public schools.
In a unanimous decision, the Court ruled that House Bill 9 violates our state constitution and that tax dollars cannot be diverted to charter schools without voter approval.

Gov. Beshear signs bill dealing with energy costs into law
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear signed Senate Bill 172 on Thursday making it the first bill of this legislative session to be signed into law.
Great to see Senate Bill 172 signed into law to help lower utility costs for Kentucky families.
Now let’s build on this progress and pass the $75 million proposal to help at-risk Kentuckians keep the lights on and their homes warm.

Homeland Security Wants Social Media Sites to Expose Anti-ICE Accounts
DHS is issuing subpoenas to ask for the names & contact info for the social media accounts criticizing ICE.
This is a complete violation of your rights. The First Amendment doesn’t have an asterisk that says “unless you criticize the government.”

So remember when Donald Trump promised he’d “bring down the cost of everything”? According to Kentucky data that promise was more campaign slogan than reality.

This shouldn't be a partisan issue. Powerful people, on an international scale, who have allegedly committed heinous crimes, are being protected by Pam Bondi and the D.O.J.
Since when are we a nation that protects pedophiles? The victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his network deserve justice.

Lexington high school students walk out in protest of immigration crackdown
The Paul Laurence Dunbar High School students walked out at 2:05 p.m., holding signs and chanting to show their disapproval of ICE enforcement actions.
Proud of the students who are peacefully exercising their right to speak up for what they believe in. That takes courage & conviction. And grateful to the administrators & staff who worked to keep students safe and supported. This is what democracy looks like in action.

Kentuckians don’t wake up worried about culture-war acronyms. They wake up worried about bills, jobs and health care. Let’s talk about that.
