Mother of toddler dragged into water by river otter sues NW port In September of last year, a river otter had dragged the 2-year-old into the water and scratched and bit on her head, face and legs while she was walking down the dock with her mother.

The odds of being killed by a river otter? Never zero.

Owner of iconic downtown Portland restaurant, oldest in city, dies at 79 James Kai Louie was known to workers, customers and family as a β€œcharismatic” owner who made others feel special.

James Louie was a Portland legend. If you ever met him, he was so warm and hospitable, always had on a three-piece suit, total class act. Warmly greeted the regulars. I think it's time for another trip to Huber's soon...

Food Court 5000: Portland’s neon-clad mall walkers take over Lloyd Center every Sunday Part performance art, part workout, the Food Court 5000 is a fast-paced power walk across 3 miles of the Lloyd Center.

One day, Portlanders will look back on this strange, trippy, post-corporate, punk rock period of the Lloyd Center and tell the kids "you just had to be there."

The stairwells in the parking lots are absolutely horrible. 100% avoid those. Park by the Barnes & Noble. Inside the mall is totally normal. But, you know, places that serve as incubators for artists/startups/bohemian vibes are never in the fancy parts of town.
