Thank you @OnHumansPod for writing up our three-hour interview. The writeup also draws from my book and a talk I gave at TED. My TED talk pointed out that the true advantage China has over India is its human capital, not the infrastructure that China has become famous for.

I am always skeptical of this idea that democracy is rooted in universal values, a view not supported by the recent presidential elections in this country. In my 2023 book I cited the 2020 election that so many Americans voted for a transparent autocrat. This is even more true of the 2024 election.

The progressives should celebrate what is in their label: a culture of progress, rather than a culture of identity. Tolerance and diversity are associated with progress but tolerance and diversity can be a result of progress. Or they contribute to progress organically, not through a forced process.

To Win Back Voters, Democrats Should Let Trump Be Trump | by Yasheng Huang - Project Syndicate Yasheng Huang urges the party to adopt a long-term strategy aimed at discrediting the MAGA ideology once and for all.

The Democrats need to do some hard thinking about what they should do next. In this piece, I propose that they should let the GOP score some wins--up to a point and in some areas--as a way to discredit its ideology. www.project-syndicate.org/onpoint/let-...
