#TheOneRing #ttrpg - The dice were with us - we cleaned the clocks of the orcs at the East Gate, climbed the Dimrill Stair without mishap, and convinced the isolationist village at the top to invite us in and show us a secret entrance. I hope dice karma doesn't bite us next session, into Moria...

When we bought our 1st house in 1993, one requirement was a room that could be the RPG room - wasn't big enough. Our 2nd house had to have an open floorplan so the LR/kitchen was the RPG room - wasn't open enough. I designed our current house with a great room to be the RPG room. Finally perfect.

#Coloring during tonight's #ttrpg - it's autumn here and it's just coming into autumn in the game, so I tried for a color palette corresponding to it.

Thanks to the Saucer Separation ability of the Constitution class, the last step, affixing the saucer, made it hard to hold it in place while the glue dried.

The Federation would like to officially thank the Tholian Assembly for their assistance.

Today at #CraftClub at @rbccvt.org I did the final painting and assembly of the U.S.S. Challenger, the ship from our #StarTrekAdventures #ttrpg at #RPGNight. In two weeks, I will be doing decals, including a custom decal for the name, and finally finishing this project months in the making.

I'm in.

Of course I was in once we saw Reno. I'd be in for a show that was her cracking wise and eating pistachios for 45 minutes.

But this is probably even better than that.

And for the British, ruff is similar to chuff chuff!

Because of their tendency to appear in linked groups?

The putty seems to absorb tea - which makes me worry tea will absorb it. But I can't find any paint that would work - there's one type but it seems to be no longer being made. No answer from the VLA about getting another. Sigh. Why is this so hard.

#StarWars #OpenTable #ttrpg - my character Lingon is not getting many chances to do anything. Basic mismatch, the adventure is nearly all combat and so far entirely set on a ship, and she's a street urchin sneaky scrounger. Worse yet this is a one-shot. Maybe I should make a new character?

I think a not-abandoned house would work even better - and we could all cheer it on for taking out the porch pirates.

Never got any group even vaguely interested in trying it so I've never had to face the question "could I pull it off". Even Everway turned out a bit too fruity for my current group.

#TheOneRing #ttrpg - We make for a hidden entrance high atop Silvertine into Moria to find a forge hot enough to reforge the lost mithril key. For one night, we rest in the First Hall, which Balin has recently claimed; but under Elbereth's light, we see a legion of orcs marching on the East Gate...

Lingon is heavily inspired by Newt from _Aliens_, but about ten years older. Part of the design for her is for her to be ignorant - she doesn't even know there is an Empire or a Rebellion - since I don't know canon as well as others at the table. Not very sustainable, but this is a one-shot.

Fossil phrases like 'hoist by his own petard' are always fun to collect. I just realized that 'even a stopped clock is right twice a day' has become a fossil phrase during my lifetime. I know plenty of kids who have never seen a clock that works that way, except maybe in a movie.

I have no idea what kind of paint to use anyway - porcelain paints for ceramics need to be baked which this putty can't take - or how to color-match. I am thinking maybe leave it as it is. It has character even if it looks a bit patchy in spots. (We're also looking at whether they can ship another.)

Visited the #VeryLargeArray while in #NewMexico and, unusually, bought a souvenir; there's always T-shirts to fit my wife but not me, but this mug seemed awesome. Got it home through checked baggage intact, had one cup of tea in it, dropped it, smash. Decided to try to save it. Now, paint it or not?

A thrilling conclusion to season one of Queer New Worlds, our #StarTrekAdventures #ttrpg at #RPGNight at @rbccvt.org, tonight. It came to a mostly-bare-knuckles fight at the computer core, during which EVERYONE got knocked out except the main villain and ONE supporting character! Who saved the day!

Home! And ever so relieved. Tomorrow is getting caught up and recovering day before we start again on life.

Return flight day. Here's hoping most of the people on the plane get taken up in the #Rapture - but not the pilot, or my flight attendant. Extra space and more Coke for me!
