Much as I love the idea of it, this probably wasn't the *whole* story.

You have to love each other. You have to defend each other. You have to fight.
Much as I love the idea of it, this probably wasn't the *whole* story.
22.10.2025 10:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Holy cow! Those Casca books were essential reading for teen boys in the 80's, along with Mack Bolan. Never knew the author had such a crazy life.

#filmsky
I saw Kickboxer (from 1989) tonight, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Quite a change from the film noirs!
It's cheesy but also awesome. For an 80's kid this movie goes down like Pringles - you know it's not real life but every moment is so fun. And Van Damme's physicality is incredible.
I believe you! It sure looks amazing.

22.10.2025 00:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks, man. I really appreciate your insights on these DC Finest books. It's good that they've gone back to the original coloring. That seems to suit the Perez art the best.

#filmsky
I just saw Laura from 1944. Now this is a great film! A much better film noir than Gilda, and a great mystery. It really makes you think, and just when you figure you've solved it the plot twists and throws everything into confusion. Definitely my kind of mystery. The whole cast is great.
Something something camel through a needle.

Secondly, I don't think Gunn's Checkmate will be based on Rucka's version any more than your original. Rucka's Checkmate was also a spy comic, but with more superheroes. Gunn's looks like it will be a check on the spy community.
Do you remember the Revell Robotech models? I had the Condar. I wanted to get the others so bad, but between them and Transformers... Well, Optimus called.

#thanksgiving
It ended well. I scooped out the awful stuffing, then fabricated the turkey, breaking it up into parts. Then I vacuum sealed most of it and left enough for a Thanksgiving meal.
Now I can cook three more meals from the bird, plus the bones for soup.
Hope you all enjoyed your holiday.
I loved forums. They were a lot easier to use than BlueSky because you could just look at whatever you wanted. You didn't have to rely on an algorithm.

Now I've got to cook the turkey. I'm a little late, but it's particularly challenging this year because I bought a "stuffed" bird by mistake. At the moment I'm leaning towards taking out all the disgusting stuffing and roasting it whole.
Here's hoping all ends well!
Eye caramba!

13.10.2025 06:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Holy cow, AI is a HUGE bubble. In a properly functioning economy the law would step in at some point to stop the round-tripping, but in Trump's America...
In other news, after the last Windows update there's a CoPilot Agent continuously running on my system. Thanks?

12.10.2025 03:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nothing sells candy like a recommendation from the teacher. I think the Madison Ave guys may need to refocus their efforts on a different group of influencers that appeal to kids. Maybe grandmas?
12.10.2025 03:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I mean you could've ended it with two episodes of escalating action, but instead the real climax is Adebayo telling Chris that he's got a good heart and he's only gone wrong when he doesn't listen to his own inner conscience. For Superhero stories this is pretty radical stuff.
11.10.2025 19:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The finale was amazing! I really admire how you wrapped up the plot arc with Nazi Earth in the previous episode and used the finale for the real, emotional climax of the character arcs. It shows great confidence, and a faith in your audience to skew from more traditional styles like that.
11.10.2025 19:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Maybe, but maybe not. Lots of writers got trapped into writing genres they did well but came to loathe. If editors think of you as a kinky nurse writer you can stick with that and pay the rent, or write something different and go to the bottom of the slush pile somewhere else.
