I saw Kickboxer (from 1989) tonight, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Quite a change from the film noirs!

It's cheesy but also awesome. For an 80's kid this movie goes down like Pringles - you know it's not real life but every moment is so fun. And Van Damme's physicality is incredible.

I just saw Laura from 1944. Now this is a great film! A much better film noir than Gilda, and a great mystery. It really makes you think, and just when you figure you've solved it the plot twists and throws everything into confusion. Definitely my kind of mystery. The whole cast is great.

Thanksgiving turkey with mashed potatoes and dipping sauce

It ended well. I scooped out the awful stuffing, then fabricated the turkey, breaking it up into parts. Then I vacuum sealed most of it and left enough for a Thanksgiving meal.

Now I can cook three more meals from the bird, plus the bones for soup.

I loved forums. They were a lot easier to use than BlueSky because you could just look at whatever you wanted. You didn't have to rely on an algorithm.

But I love the idea of recording with a microphone inside a foam head. That's so neat!

Binaural sound is when they play slightly different frequencies through each headphone, then the sound combines in your head in a way that makes it seem 3D.

I mean you could've ended it with two episodes of escalating action, but instead the real climax is Adebayo telling Chris that he's got a good heart and he's only gone wrong when he doesn't listen to his own inner conscience. For Superhero stories this is pretty radical stuff.

The finale was amazing! I really admire how you wrapped up the plot arc with Nazi Earth in the previous episode and used the finale for the real, emotional climax of the character arcs. It shows great confidence, and a faith in your audience to skew from more traditional styles like that.

Maybe, but maybe not. Lots of writers got trapped into writing genres they did well but came to loathe. If editors think of you as a kinky nurse writer you can stick with that and pay the rent, or write something different and go to the bottom of the slush pile somewhere else.

I really loved Ruse and the short lived El Cazador.
