View of a mountain range with Canoa lake in foreground. Clear blue Arizona sky. Mountains reflect in the still lake.
View from Historic Canoa Ranch in Green Valley, Arizona. It’s 81F today - about 10-15 degrees above normal for us. #arizona #southernaz #canoalake

Oh hai it's just me with another random 1900 census page --this one's from Brooklyn-- where every. single. person. had foreign born parents. Just a reminder.

Camping at a Catholic Monastery! A new one for us. Quiet and peaceful. The bells of the small chapel ring out at times. Peacocks wander the property. It’s lovely. #StDavid #HolyTrinityMonastery #Arizona #Casita #camp #SouthernAZ #az

Sadly, there are no extant South African censuses that have details on individuals. They are all statistical only.

ALT: a woman in a pink jacket is laying at a table with the words " my brain 's gone " above her
Such an exhausting work week! Evidence: in one of many meetings yesterday, my response to colleague’s question was “No need to reinvent the horse”. And when did I realize I said ‘horse’? At 3 a.m. when my tired brain felt it necessary to replay that particularly insightful response. Horse - Wheel 🤷♀️

The image is of two Irish genealogy books. One titled Immigrants and Exiles by Kerby A Miller. The other titled Irish migrants in the Canadas by Bruce S Elliott.
I love new books! Looking forward to digging in!
I’d love to see any new books (don’t have to be genealogy related) you’re looking forward to reading.
