Everything feels so shit right now. But our little guy doesn't know any of it and loves to sit upright on his square butt for no reason. Little things can keep us afloat.

Plesiosauria: A Systematic and Taxonomic Overview Comprehensive systematic and taxonomic overview of Plesiosauria, including valid taxa and nomina dubia based on recent data, with detailed taxon listings.

I’m excited to share a new project that I hope will be a valuable resource for the paleo community!

I'm working on a textbook about plesiosaurs and compiled a comprehensive overview of all currently valid plesiosaur taxa and some nomina dubia. 1/3

Aw thank you! I just really like exploring lots of different media and have been very fond of Blender recently!

This was a somewhat quick and dirty (but fun!) exploration of the recent Coelophysis tail-mobility-enhanced jumping paper (royalsocietypublishing.org/rsif/article...). I'm not sure I quite got the movements right, but cool to see I think!

I didn't dare believe in a good outcome - but look at this!! Things are changing and for the first time in a long while I feel like there is hope.

I was going to save posting any more WIPs until I'd finished the eyes... but I couldn't resist. I'm super happy with how things are turning out now that I've got the materials set up in Blender (the eyes are just basic placeholders here, haven't settled on how to handle them)

This is very cool! I made a rigged coelophysoid model earlier this year - I will make it jump the next time I open up Blender!

the more reasonable way to depict it. I think whatever the case, I can't imagine it looking quite as straightforward as is thought to be the case for most theropods!

23.02.2026 12:13 — šŸ‘ 21    šŸ” 3    šŸ’¬ 1    šŸ“Œ 0

If this was case, it would be novel among reptiles at least, but it's not like Spinosaurus was particularly conventional when it came to the rest of its anatomy. The teeth just splay outwards SO much, that if fully lipped, those lips must have been really extensive. But perhaps that is (cont')

23.02.2026 12:13 — šŸ‘ 26    šŸ” 3    šŸ’¬ 1    šŸ“Œ 0

I know theropod lips aren't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but Spinosaurus specifically feels like it was doing something interesting with its extraoral tissue. In this piece, I opted for more extensive covering on the sides of the jaw, and left the tip of the snout lipless. (cont')

23.02.2026 12:13 — šŸ‘ 53    šŸ” 8    šŸ’¬ 1    šŸ“Œ 0

I understand and I appreciate the kind words. It is incredibly frustrating and sad.
