I’m a retired cosmetic chemist. I’m a potter, a jeweler and a rock collector, with varying degrees of competency, but I have fun with all of it. I'm also a huge Ren Faire fan.

About fifty years ago, I went away to college at 17. For a variety of reasons, I partied way more than I studied. But... I didn't get that out of my system until I was about 23. Waiting six months until I was 18 would have changed absolutely nothing

No but a lady who lived an hour away from me got arrested for using human faces in her artwork.

She lives in Salem.

A giant hamburger with many fixings. There is a wire grill brush sticking out of the burger. The text reads: Keep sharp objects out of your food. Clean your grill with a nylon brush or ball of aluminum foil.

When I was growing up autistic kids were "hyper" or "had water on the brain" and there was always a raft of "weird kids" who were socially ostracized because they had a hard time people-ing. If you don't think autism existed before it was commonly called "autism," it's because you chose not to see.

A two panel cartoon of black ink on white paper. A cat comes upon a scene where a little girl has tied helium balloons to three kittens. In the second panel the balloon are tied to the girl and she is floating away. All the cats are laughing at her.

If Dems ever get power again - assuming free and fair elections (big assumption) - they will never again have the excuse of “we can’t pass laws through congress and the president is powerless.”

Presidency is now a king level position capable of law by EO alone apparently.

The economy will need to go past a recession into a full blown depression. It’s an actual cult - Dear Leader can’t fail, he can only be failed- at least until failure is entirely unmistakable. Just a recession won’t be enough.

Someone threw three little kittens in a cardboard box out on the street. Despite my own difficult situation these days, I couldn’t leave them there. I rescued them. One of them is sick and will need medicine.
Still in urgent need of help these days 🙏

OF THE EMPIRE
We will be known as a culture that feared death and adored power, that tried to vanquish insecurity for the few and cared little for the penury of the many. We will be known as a culture that taught and rewarded the amassing of things, that spoke little if at all about the quality of life for people (other people), for dogs, for rivers. All the world, in our eyes, they will say, was a commodity. And they will say that this structure was held together politically, which it was, and they will say also that our politics was no more than an apparatus to accommodate the feelings of the heart, and that the heart, in those days, was small, and hard, and full of meanness.

Transitioning An Indoor/Outdoor Cat to Indoor Only • Feline Engineering Outdoor access carries risk for a cat's health and safety. It can also lead to behavior problems. Here's how to transition your cat to a fully indoor life.

If you're looking to transition your cat to indoor-only due to H1N1, great! There are many other benefits, too. But it may not go well if you just shut them in and call it a day, you need to commit to giving them an enriched indoor environment with lots of play. felineengineering.com/blog/indoor-...
