Vibes and atmosphere count for a lot, and as far as I'm concerned those are through the roof in this one. Along with a neat character design and concept, definitely recommend.

I feel like it's a disservice to call this horror movie comfort food, but for me? About the best way I can describe it. Uncomfortable and frightening at points but doesn't send me into a panic/depression spiral afterward.

Watched 18/? last night but just logging it now, Eyes Without A Face (1960)

This has validated my decision to try watching more non-English horror films. Great acting, great camera work, and REALLY great effects for the time. Even the MASK looks genuinely unnerving.

As much as I'm making a concentrated effort to squeeze in horror movies I haven't seen before this month, it's a classic that I always have to include.

I'm usually not the biggest found footage fan, but it was a very pleasant surprise. Also reinforced that I need to make myself watch more non-English films or at least more films made outside the USA, so tonight it's Eyes Without A Face.

I feel like this is why you try your best not to write off particular subgenres. I'm generally not the biggest found footage horror fan, but this one hit a spot. I had a pretty good time with it.

Got hung up on some projects and missed a couple days, time to get a lead back with 16/?, a rewatch of Sinners.

This is still easily the best release I've seen all year. Likely one of the best of the decade. Very likely an alltime favorite, but I think I need at least a little more time to confirm

Oh sorry, I thought you meant the second season. I think the third episode is where season one gets going, if memory serves?

I think it just feels unfocused? Like there's three different things going on in this season that could all be the main crux of the story but instead they're all competing with each other and that just makes the usual Gunn shenanigans feel like a waste of time instead of a positive accentuation.

I don't think I've seen a single movie with Vincent Price in it that wasn't 10/10 for his presence if nothing else. I love this movie.

I liked this a lot, except maybe for the ending? But I actually really like the characters and there's some very creative uses of light and the absence thereof in this movie.

And if I watch Until Dawn I'll have seen all of Sandberg's movies.

Forgot to log 13/? last night. Since we're also coming up on the end of the year, it's not only time for horror movies but also to start rewatching potential contenders for my favorite movies I saw this year. And this does both.

The Monkey is a stupid goddamn movie and I love every minute of it.

In my totally biased opinion, this is the best thing Marvel Studios has ever done and the lack of follow-up is unforgivable.

Had dinner with my dad who's not a big horror fan, so 9/? is Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024).

As someone who likes but is steadily gaining more of an appreciation for the original, I'm still amazed that this almost forty year later, kinda uneven sequel is as entertaining as it is.

I think this is one of my favorite horror movies that I somehow always forget about until I'm on a horror kick. Some really great makeup/prosthetics work, a great atmospheric setting and some delightfully sinister performances all around.

This might be one of my favorite horror movies ever despite the fact that it doesn't really scare me at all? It's just goofy enough to be unnerving at points, and Obayashi's intent to make a movie that's just like a kid's dream works 100%.
