From one of the highest Isle Royale peaks at 1,133 feet above sea level (roughly 530 feet above Lake Superior), the Greenstone Ridge Northeast Webcam, located at the peak of Mount Ojibway, captures a northeastern vantage point. The angle gazes across the spine of the Greenstone Ridge from Ojibway Tower to Passage Island Lighthouse. The webcam is solar powered and communicates multiple times per day, year-round, when power and communications infrastructure allows.

Perched atop the Windigo Visitor Center, the Windigo Webcam offers a sweeping view of Washington Harbor. You might find a moose swimming or foraging through these sheltered Lake Superior waters, or catch a colorful sunset in all its brilliance on a late summer night. The webcam is active only during the summer months when power is available to it (typically from the beginning of May until late September).

This was the first webcam view that Glacier National Park offered. Originally it was only going to be a test until a better location was found, but it turns out that this view has a large following. Watch for the occasional lunchtime crowd at the picnic table or our resident deer wandering about. Some years in the early summer beargrass blooms dot the forest.

The West Entrance to the park is a good indicator of how busy things may be at locations inside the park. During July and August expect to see a long string of cars as they line up to purchase their entrance passes. We sell several different passes including a 7-day pass for $35.00, an annual pass for $70.00, and the America the Beautiful Pass for $80.00. The America the Beautiful Pass will allow entrance into any national park in the country and is good for some services on National Forests and at other Federal agencies.

This image is from a research camera positioned on the southeast flank of Puʻuʻōʻō, looking toward the southeast. Disclaimer: The webcams are operational 24/7 and faithfully record the dark of night if there are no sources of incandescence or other lights. Thermal webcams record heat rather than light and get better views through volcanic gas. At times, clouds and rain obscure visibility. The cameras are subject to sporadic breakdown and may not be repaired immediately. Some cameras are observing an area that is off-limits to the general public because of significant volcanic hazards.

This webcam is on the park's North Entrance at Gardiner, Montana. It shows current conditions at the entrance with Roosevelt Arch in the background. The arch became known as Roosevelt Arch after President Theodore Roosevelt, who was vacationing in the park, spoke at the ceremony to lay the cornerstone in 1903. The arch is inscribed with a phrase from the legislation establishing Yellowstone National Park: "For the benefit and enjoyment of the people."
